ISIS Lone Wolf Attacks Take Terrorism Threats To A Deeply Personal Level

ISIS--670x288The possible ISIS lone wolf attacks in New York City, in Oklahoma, and Ottawa, Canada make the deadly threats against the United States by the Islamic State even more frightening and urgent. While government officials debate how to title such acts, preppers across America have stepped up their self-reliance and survival plans.

NYPD Hatchet Attack

During the New York City hatchet attack one police officer was injured in the arm, one NYPD officer was left in critical condition with a head wound, the hatchet-wielding assailant dead, and a 29-year-old female bystander wounded. The woman was reportedly about a block away and hit with by a stray bullet fired by one of the uninjured New York City police officers who took down the alleged ISIS supporter.

The NYC police hatchet attack occurred in Queens in broad daylight by Zale Thompson, 32. Thompson is reportedly a Muslim who recently posted radical Islamic phrases on Facebook. An unidentified police source told Vocative that Thompson appears to have ties to a “radical Islam” leaders who supports aggressive actions toward the United States government.

Zale Thompson posted this comment on YouTube last month:

“If you’re looking for ‘perfect’ Muslims who never make any mistakes in their Jihad, then you will be looking in vain! If the Zionists and the Crusaders had never invaded and colonized the Islamic lands after WW1, then there would be no need for Jihad! Which is better, to sit around and do nothing, or to Jihad fisabeelallah!”

According to the New York City police hatchet attack suspect’s Facebook page, he graduated from the Teachers College at Columbia University in NYC.

Another YouTube comment by the NYPD hatchet attack suspect:

“It’s ok for white people to draw pictures of a white Jesus, and then colonize Africa, and enslave the negro in America, wipe out the native American, and invade the middle east. They call black people racist for rejecting the oppression they suffered from whites. Listen, when black people have colonized the entire continent of Europe, enslaved its people, and sold them into bondage to foreign lands, then you can call them racist.”

On his Facebook page, Zale Thompson reportedly called for guerrilla warfare:

“America’s military is strong abroad, but they have never faced an internal mass revolt. They are weaker at home. We are scattered and decentralized, we can use this as an advantage. They are centralized and strong, which can be exploited as a weakness. Think of a swarm of bees (negroes) that surround and attack an elephant (America) to death. Helicopters, big military will be useless on their own soil. They will not be able to defeat our people if we use guerilla warfare. Attack their weak flanks … If you get wounded who cares. If you die who cares. Eventually they will surrender and then the war will be over.”

The New Black Panther Party has hailed the NYPD hatchet attack. Queens chapter leader of the Black Panthers group, Frank Sha Francois, said that New York City hatchet attacker Zale Thompson was a “crusader seeking justice.” Zale Thompson was described as a “Muslim extremist” by the New York Post, and deemed a follow of “radical Islam” with possible ties to ISIS by multiple media outlets. The New Black Panther Party New York leader also contends that more and similar assaults will likely follow the broad daylight hatchet attack.

“It probably won’t be the last [attack on police] because you have a lot of frustrated people out here,” Black Panthers Queens chapter leader Frank Sha Francois told the New York Post. Francois also noted that while Zale Thompson was not an official member of the New Black Panther Party, he had come to meetings and discussed police brutality. According to Francois, the pair discussed the Michael Brown shooting in Ferguson and the Eric Garner case.

“I don’t condone violence, but something needs to be done. We need to have some type of deterrent and real oversight to deter the police from violating the laws and to know they are not above the laws,” the New Black Panther Party leader added. “Our main way to deal with it [alleged police brutality] is to rally and boycotting. I tell people that to go up against law enforcement in this country is suicide.”

Oklahoma Beheading

Oklahoma beheading suspect Alton Nolen’s mother, Joyce Nolen, stated during a recent conference that there are “two sides to every story.” The former Vaughan Foods employee is currently being investigated for possible ties to ISIS. Nolen has been accused of beheading one woman and attacking another before being shot by an executive at the Oklahoma food plant. Colleen Hufford, 54, was decapitated during the attack.

Joyce Nolen recorded a video, with the Oklahoma beheading suspect’s sister, Megan Nolen, standing alongside. Alton Nolen’s mother said the family is in shock over the deadly attack at Vaughan Foods plant last week. “My heart is just so heavy right now, I know my son. My son was raised up in a loving home. My son was raised up believing in God … my son was a good kid,” Joyce Nolen said after the beheading in Oklahoma.

Local police officers reportedly believe that Alton Nolen became a Muslim last year and repeatedly attempted to convince his Vaughan Foods co-workers to convert to Islam. A Facebook page which has been attributed to Nolen contains a plethora of postings and photos which appear to many to support ISIS. Law enforcement officers believe that Alton Nolen created his Facebook page under the name of Jah’Keem Yisrael.

“That’s not my son. There’s two sides to every story and we’re only hearing one. His family – our hearts bleed right now, because what they are saying Alton has done. I want to apologize to both families, because this is not Alton, but I just … I’m prying justice will prevail,” Joyce Nolen also stated during the video recorded after the Oklahoma beheading.

ISIS and al Qaeda teaming up?

ISIS and al Qaeda may be considering a truce. If reports that Qatar, a member of President Obama’s coalition to thwart Islamic State militants, is truly brokering such an agreement, could terrorism threats against America increase?

Qatar is allegedly working behind the scenes to secure a truce between ISIS and the al Qaeda group known as the Al Nusra Front, according to senior Egyptian intelligence officials. The Al Nusra Front is also involved in the fighting going on in Syria. If intelligence reports are accurate, ISIS and Al Nusra are considering joining forces to fight the United States-led coalition in both Iraq and Syria.

In addition to Qatar, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Oman, Jordan, Lebanon, and the United Arab Emirates are also members of President Obama’s Gulf Cooperation Council. Although Egypt is also a member of the group, intelligence sources said the country will not be involved in targeting ISIS directly.

The Al Nusra Front is also known as Jabhat al-Nursa, Tanzim Qa-edat Al-Jihadi, or simply as al Qaeda in Syria. The group is known to operate in both Lebanon and Syria. An announcement about the creation of the group was released on January 23, 2012, during the ongoing Syrian civil war fighting. The al Qaeda group has been called referred to as “one of the most effective rebel forces” in Syria and as being both “aggressive” and “successful.” Al Nursa is designated as a terrorist organization in America, Australia, Turkey, the United Kingdom, and by the United Nations.

The group ISIS is allegedly considering joining forces with is largely comprised of Sunni Islamist mujahideen. The Al Nusra Front has reportedly vowed to overthrow Basha al-Assad and then create a Pan-Islamic state under Sharia law and ultimately a caliphate.

Earlier this year Dr. Sami Al Oraidi, a top Sharia leader in Al Nusra, said his group is “influenced” by the teachings of Abu Musab al-Suri. The teachings reportedly revolved around guidelines which mandate, “providing services to people, avoid being seen as extremists, maintaining strong relationships with communities and other fighting groups, and putting the focus on fighting the regime.”

New York Times reporter C.J. Chivers some diplomats and analysts believe that the Al Nursa Front and ISIS may appear “less focused” on toppling the Bashar al-Assad regime than on the creation of a “zone of influence” in Iraq and Syria that ultimately become an Islamic territory under the authority. Members of the al Qaeda group have stated that both Israel and the United States are “enemies of Islam” and warned America not to intervene in Syria.
